MDC Technology Business Loan and Job Growth: 2010-2011

MDC's portfolio of loans to technology businesses continues to generate positive job growth for Madison and Dane County. A sampling of these businesses, including Networked Insights, NeuWave Medical, Forte Research System, Nordic Consulting, and Applied Tech, have experienced rapid job growth in the last year.  From 2010 to 2011 these companies have increased total employment from 174 to 242 total jobs-about a 40% increase.  Two of these companies, Networked Insights and Nordic Consulting, have individually increased employment over 50% each.  These 68 new jobs so far this year, as well as the prior years' jobs, also pay good wages and benefits.  This brings income into Madison's economy and has ripple effects for jobs in the service and retail sectors as well. 

On another metric we measure at MDC, leveraging other investment, these companies are leaders as well.  We are extremely pleased to see Networked Insights bring in an investment of $20 million this year from a world class investment bank.  MDC is proud to be associated with these businesses and to play a supporting role in their success.
