Dane County Small Business Awards

Ten local businesses and an executive were honored Friday at the 2010 Dane County Small Business Awards ceremony at the Sheraton Madison Hotel.

Frank Staniszewski, president of Madison Development Corp., 550 W. Washington Ave., received the Small Business Advocate Award.

New Self Renewal Center, a fitness and wellness facility at 6300 Enterprise Lane owned by Suzanne Grundahl, received the Emerging Business Award. The award goes to a business less than three years old.

Other businesses honored were: Architecture Network, 116 E. Dayton St.; Degnan Design Builders, DeForest; Gaylord Catering Service, 709 Atlas Ave.; Natural Resources Consulting, Cottage Grove; Neider & Boucher, 440 Science Drive; the Employer Group, Verona; PrecipEnz Technologies, 708 Heartland Trail; Menzel Enterprises, Sun Prairie; and Urban Construction Administration, 313 W. Beltline.

The awards, sponsored by eight companies and nonprofit groups, recognize successful small businesses in Dane County that have rewarding workplace environments and contribute to their community.
